Thomas Francis Bride (1849-1927), librarian, was created on 1 October 1849 at Cork, Ireland, son of Henry Nelson Bride along with his spouse Ellen, nee Bourke. In 1870 he enrolled as a statutory law pupil in the University of Melbourne and after winning scholarships and exhibitions finished with first-class honours in 1873.
